BCP Bereavement Care, to deliver the most fitting wake, memorial or celebration of life for your loved one.
Our service to you
We’re committed to making sure your memorial event runs exactly as you want it to. We understand that organising a funeral and wake can be a very upsetting and stressful experience. Our café is owned and operated by BCP Council and so we work closely with our BCP Bereavement Care colleagues to make sure we deliver a sensitive and fitting tribute for your loved one.
You will have one point of contact as you plan your event, who will help and advise you every step of the way.
Venues
We take bookings for wakes, memorials and celebrations of life events here at Woodpecker Café, our licensed venue - located within a short drive of Bournemouth Crematorium and North Cemetery.
Our space can be segmented and made private for large gatherings, or separated into smaller, exclusive spaces for fewer people.
Food and Drink
Woodpecker Café is a fully licensed venue, with a bar area.
Our Wake Menu
For food, choose from a buffet of deliciously fresh sandwich platters, savoury tartlets or our ploughman's grazing stations full of delicious cold meats with local cheeses and chutneys.

You are welcome to bring flowers from the funeral service to the venue, or if you prefer, we can arrange table decoration for you.

Payment
We will take a deposit, which can be paid by card over the phone, at the point of booking. Full payment will be taken before the day - we understand that more people may come than expected: don't worry, we will be able to accommodate more guests and can arrange additional payment on the day.
If a solicitor is involved with the estate, we can invoice them.
